Scope & Content This letter was written towards the climax of the 1844 Presidential campaign and in it Henry Clay discusses the gubenatorial election in Pennsylvania and its ramifications for the national election. This letter is a candid view of Henry Clay's mindset and feelings in the final days of his last and most significant campaign.
